Flowers to Look Out for in May

Wax Begonia (Begonia semperflorens)
These plant are often cultivated in gardens. They have glossy dark green to brown leaves with four or five petaled flowers with yellow centers. The most common colours of these blossoms are white, pink and red.

Crabgrass (Digitaria)
These are common weeds we always see during the summer. The most distinctive part of these plants are the seed heads, with usually three stalks.

Gaziana (Gazania rigens)
Gazanias are also called treasure flowers and African daisies. They are very common flowers during warm weather, and are usually vibrant orange, yellow or brown.

Field Bindweed (Convolvulus arvensis)
This is an invasive species which grow at ground level. They have alternating pink and white stripes and funnel shaped blossom

Weigela (Weigela florida)
The leaves of the weigela shrub are deciduous and are a vibrant green. The branches are sturdy and the flowers range from magenta to a light pink.

Wild Mustard (Brassica rapa)
Wild mustard is also known as charlock, and grows in almost every type of soil. They have clusters of bright yellow flowers and grow to about 1 foot tall.
